Parent Comments About the Samuel Morey Preschool
Parent input is extremely important to us and is one of the primary indicators that we us to determine the success of our program. Following are comments that were shared by parents through parent surveys, progress reports, and additional written correspondence.
There are not enough wonderful things in the world to tell you what an amazing experience our family has had in this preschool. Everyone has been so kind and patient and loving and fun to my son – and also to us. He has learned so much, is happy to come to school, and has really flourished socially. Thank you so much for doing such a great job easing us into the school life and helping us to be acclimated and find our way. I have high expectations for my son’s education and teachers since the bar was set so high this year.
We love the
preschool program. The staff, children, everyone is amazing. Mr. Rob has done
an outstanding job in the preschool and outside the preschool. My daughter
looks forward to preschool everyday! Love getting the pictures sent home! Love
how they include younger siblings into the program to get used to it. Thank
you.
Thank you for a
great year! (Our child) enjoyed preschool so much! We couldn’t ask for a better
start for our girls.
The preschool
program conducted by Mr. Rob has beyond surpassed our expectations. Our son is
engaged and learning new things each day he attends preschool. It’s a shame the
program is losing someone as knowledgeable, caring, and involved as Mr. Rob.
We are so
fortunate to have had three of our children attend the SME preschool program
with Mr. Rob. The quality of the program is beyond measure. Like the saying,
“The proof is in the pudding.” If you ask any current or past students (or
parents!) they all rave about the phenomenal job Rob and his staff do!

all you have done to make (our child) the smart, funny, and functional kid that
she is!
(Our child) has
had a wonderful experience in preschool. We appreciate the welcoming attitude
and attention given to each child – especially those moments of difficult
separation, etc. we’ve also loved the welcome (our older child) gets in the
classroom. (Our child) enjoys the family atmosphere with babies and other
siblings visiting class. And (my husband) and I have especially enjoyed and
appreciated the photos. It’s hard to get information from young kids but having
photos to see and prompt conversation have been fun and are now a wonderful
documentary of her year. All of the preschool staff have been great. Thanks for
a great first year of education for (our child). There’s no better way to start
off school than being in a friendly, welcoming, caring and beautiful classroom!
Thank you for
helping (our child) grow in preschool. Thank you for all the help along the way
with (our younger child) also. We have had such a great time with you over the
course of preschool. Thank you for everything! We have had an amazing
experience! We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher to our journey of the
school years ahead! (Our child) is super excited to go to kindergarten! But sad
to leave preschool. Thank you again sooo much!

I just wanted
to say thanks for being such an amazing teacher and helping (our children)
assimilate to their new lives here in Fairlee. We are so lucky to have had you
as their teacher and I know so many children (and parents) have benefitted from
your patient, nurturing, and supportive classroom. You have a true gift
and I wish you well in the future. I know school isn’t yet over but I wanted to
thank you for your wonderful work and the important role you have played in all
of our lives.
Without you, I
am not sure we would have survived the start of school for (our children). You
have been amazing. We will miss you! Thank you for riding the wave of two very
different children and meeting them at all their needs. You are a truly special
person and teacher.

I love the routines the kids have when coming into class. Putting backpack/lunch away, washing hands, recognizing name and putting it on board, and reading and responding to the morning message. Mr. Rob and Mrs. Becka are wonderful. So kind and engaging with the kids. I really feel safe and comfortable leaving (our child) there. Thank you for a wonderful first year at SME!
Preschool has been wonderful for (our child)! We are so grateful for the hard work and dedication that all the teachers have put forth. I believe that the SME preschool program is the best around. My concerns are always addressed surrounding (our child’s) learning style and her progress. Mr. Rob has helped me come up with a plan surrounding (our child’s) transition to kindergarten. (Our child) has grown exponentially this year both academically and emotionally.

Our child has had so much fun and has really learned and grown tremendously this year. What I love best is that I clearly see what he is learning in school, but if I ask him what he’s learning he sometimes says, “We don’t learn, we just play.” At this age I think learning should be stealthy, disguised as play!

We love the Samuel Morey preschool program! (Our child) has learned so much and is always asking what day he gets to go back to school. He has not only grown academically but socially as well. One of the best parts of this program is of course the staff. They are all amazing! The communication is great. There is always a weekly update about what the children are learning including pictures to see them in action. There is not one thing we would change about this program!
We feel very fortunate that (our child) was able to participate in such a superb program for the last two years! Your patience, guidance and support in a safe and caring environment has helped her blossom – and the photos you have taken (and shared with us) are priceless. Both my children that have participated (in the program) have loved going. (The teacher and staff) go above and beyond what is expected. (The children) have a lot of fun while playing and learning. I tell everyone who is looking at preschools, this is one of the best, the most caring, and the friendliest preschool. They provide a safe, loving, and engaging experience.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be part of this program for four years. We are so thankful for all you have done for both of our children. We are thankful for your support of our children and our family throughout the years.

(Our child) loves coming to pre-k! If he knows it is a day he gets to go to school he flies out of bed in the morning and rushes to get ready!
It is such a great feeling to know the staff genuinely cares about not only our son, but our entire family - they even ask how (our child’s grandmother) is!

We could not be happier with the pre-k program here at Samuel Morey. Amazing preschool. I could not ask for anything more. (Our newborn child) will definitely attend!
I have checked a yes response to all of the preceding questions. As in the teachers and staff have met and far exceeded all of those basic expectations. My child’s needs have been met on a very personal and individual level and he has benefitted very much from those attentions. He has also attained a positive attitude about school, due in large part I think to his relationships with the teachers and staff. I am very happy that he had the opportunity to spend this past year at Samuel Morey preschool.
I would also like to comment on the quality of the school/home communication. The teachers were very open and communicative with me, and also made me feel like my input was considered and heard. I appreciated their shared observations, and subsequently felt like I was a part of the process of my son’s education.
(Our child) loves going to school. She asks every morning, “Is today a school day?” This program has been wonderful for her. She enjoys it so much. Her progress with her speech this year has been great also. She’s learned lots of numbers and how to write her name. It’s just been a very positive experience for her.
Our family is extremely happy with the program on all levels.
I believe that Rivendell’s preschool programs set this school district apart from others. This is such an investment in the upper grades. When I describe the preschool to out of town friends they cannot believe that this high quality classroom is provided through the public school to special needs children as well as those without. I love the balance of routines/structure with plenty of time to pursue child led interests and play. Thank you for offering this 5 star preschool with 5 star staff!
Keep doing the great work that you all do so well. The program keeps getting better and better as the years go by. Thank you so much for all that you and your staff have done for my kids. We have really enjoyed our first year at this preschool. I feel I get a lot of feedback and conversation time with the teachers. I feel welcome anytime. I feel the preschool is very safe. My daughter loves going and she learns so much. It’s a fantastic program.

Our child and all the children seemed to feel cared for by the teacher & staff. Our child has never felt unsafe or insecure during the two year time at preschool. The teacher and staff are great examples of patience and understanding for children and adults. The activities have truly encouraged our child to grow academically more than we ever imagined. As stated previously, our child’s growth academically has been outstanding. The benefit (of the activities) is undeniable. We cannot imagine a higher quality early education experience. Honest and true.
We are extremely grateful for the Samuel Morey preschool program. Both of our children had an excellent foundation for growing academically (that was) created by the preschool. The younger of our children was able to enjoy two years in the preschool program and the achievement has been beyond our imaginations. Thank you for all the great work, patience, and fun.

Thank you! Rob and his group far exceed our notions of and expectations about preschool. We had really hoped for a stimulating preparation for kindergarten and a gauge for where (our child) is along her path. We weren’t getting that elsewhere, so when the opening came up and we were able to have (her) here, those things were made real by Rob – Many, many thanks and looking forward to having (our younger child) in here!

This was (our child’s) first experience in any kind of child care setting. I was worried leaving her in the care of others, but the preschool staff all were amazing! (Our child) loved the program! Now I wish she had been able to attend sooner. You will all be missed by (our child), as well as the rest of our family. Being in the preschool has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. She loves her teachers and speaks of them frequently at home. As a parent I really appreciate that I can drop her off and have absolutely no doubt that she will be given the best of care. I also really love the sense of humor and fun that the teachers all have and which they cultivate in the children. It is a great preschool, I truly do not have one negative thing to say about it!

The classroom is always very inviting to everyone. All the staff is always welcoming and smiling everyday. (The preschool) is just like at home! (The staff) all do a great job explaining what children need/should be doing to be a part of the preschool community. (My child) always comes home with many fun stories to tell. (My child) has learned so much in his first year. Next year he will be ready to learn more!
Everyday (in the preschool) feels like my extended family. (The preschool staff) all are part of our extended family. (The teacher) invites parents to do activities with the class. I feel I can be involved whenever it is convenient for me! (The teacher) is always available when needed – I appreciate this very much. I enjoy hearing (about) my child’s progress. (The newsletter and notices) have great content – helps with communication with my son about his day! We love everything about Samuel Morey preschool! We feel very lucky to have this type of preschool setting offered to us! Thank you very much for everyone’s hard work.
We would like to share our appreciation and give credit to the entire SME preschool staff. We know that every day (our child) is surrounded by sensitive, caring, and respectful teachers. We feel comfortable and confident that he is getting the best care and encouragement possible outside of our home. Over the last two years we have watched (our child) grow and develop a strong personality; one where he is confident enough to take chances, explore new ideas, and ask a lot of questions. There is no doubt in our minds that the SME preschool staff was a large and loving part of that. Our thanks to all of them could not be any more sincere or well deserved. Our only last hope is that this program and the staff that make it so excellent continue to provide the same enriching experience when (our daughter) is old enough to attend and benefit from it as much as (our son) has. They truly are the BEST!

I love the preschool program. It has been extremely great for all of my children. (My child) loves coming to school. It is a very good experience for him.
(The teacher and staff) show particular interest in the little ones that will be attending in the future. I have found that the teacher is available to speak with me on vacations and other times that my child is not in attendance. The newsletter and notices contain good literacy info and we love the pictures! I continue to maintain that the preschool program was the deciding factor in our choice to move to Orford. It is a wonderful, warm environment that all my children enjoy being in.

Love it! I put 2 of my children through the program and would not have had it any other way.
This year was especially great for the social progression of our daughter. When first going into preschool she was very shy. She has since socially grown and become very outgoing because of the work and attention of the staff.

Our child has had a great year at Samuel Morey Preschool! She seems to be fond of all of her classmates and has become especially close with a couple of girls. She has a lot of affection for her teachers and speaks highly of them at home. I’ve noticed that she has developed in several areas since she entered preschool. She’s more independent, has an easier time waiting and being patient, feels more comfortable and confident in group situations, and is just in general more mature. We are happy that she has learned much of the alphabet and shows a very strong interest in learning to read and write. We are very pleased with her progress and are happy she’s here!
Thank you so much for your continued support and exceptional level of professionalism. We continue to be very pleased with (our child’s) daily learning and look forward to (our younger child’s) arrival in the preschool.
All of the teachers go above and beyond to make (our child) feel secure in school.
Everyone there has done a really good job working to understand (our child) with his speech delay. I really like how family is integrated into the class. My daughter who was in preschool last year still likes to visit.

I believe that the Samuel Morey Preschool is the best in the area. The staff is superb – I cannot imagine any other place I would want my daughter to spend 5 days/week (more waking hours with the preschool than with me during the week!) I moved to Fairlee because of this preschool program. I am so happy to have (my child) in the care and hands of Rob and his staff. Rob puts a lot of thought into his newsletters and they are very educational. I thoroughly enjoy reading them and becoming more educated. And the photos are wonderful!
My child is shy and the staff has been wonderful in making the transition (to preschool) as easy as possible. You guys are all great and I look forward to having (my younger child) in your class next year!
(My child) has come a long ways in the two years he has been in the preschool. The curriculum has been excellent for him! We feel like it is a family atmosphere to us. Toddlers are welcome too. Love this. I feel that this is the best preschool ever! Everyone is doing a great job. Keep up the good work!
Our child really enjoys school and is learning so much educationally, socially,
and emotionally! The open door policy for the entire family is one of our favorite parts! I have chosen to be very involved and this was accepted with open arms!

The values that we wish to instill in our children are a strong focus in the preschool. Mr. Rob and his crew do a wonderful job of incorporating social and academic skills in a natural and fun way. (My child) loves his class and his teachers and he has grown quite a bit since the beginning of the school year.

This is (my child’s) second year in the program. She loves school and her teachers. I am welcomed in the preschool and can discuss any issue with the teachers regarding (my child). I am especially happy with (my child) learning and growing on her level. Mr. Rob has been wonderful with helping her grow and explore new things pertaining to her developmental level. Thank you!
We think the Preschool Program at Samuel Morey is wonderful. Our child has grown and developed so much in the short amount of time she has been there. The teachers within the program are very attentive to the children and their developmental needs.
